Hey! My name is Allison. I’m a stay-at-home-mom who left my career in accounting to pursue a simpler lifestyle for my family. As a former control-freak and perfectionist, this has been a hard but wonderful adjustment. I’ve grown in my faith, and am learning who I am in Christ. I’m so thankful for a Savior who meets me where I am, and changes my stubborn heart little by little.
I’m a wife to my high school sweetheart, Pat, and mom to two boys, Easton and Barrett. We currently live in the town where my husband and I grew up, and spend lots of time at the ballpark.

Why Pine straw Mountain? That was the name we affectionately called the previous home we built (on a steep hill). At the end of construction, we were so anxious to move in and our budget was getting low, so we just put pine straw everywhere. Pine straw Mountain. I will forever fondly remember this house we built, because it’s where we learned to put Jesus first in our lives, and that changed everything. The lyrics of “The Mountain” by Steven Curtis Chapman sum it up:
“I want to build a house up on this mountain
Way up high where the peaceful waters flow
To quench my thirsty soul up on the mountain
I can see for miles up on this mountain
Troubles seem so small they almost disappear
Lord I love it here up on the mountain
My faith is strengthened by all that I see
You make it easy for me to believe up on the mountain
Oh, up on the mountain no
I would love to live up on this mountain
And keep the pain of living life so far away
But I know I can’t stay, ohh.. up on the mountain
I said I’d go Lord wherever you lead
For where you are is where I most want to be
And I can tell we’re headed for the valley (yes we are)
My faith is strengthened by all that I’ve seen
So Lord help me remember what you’ve shown me
Up on the mountain”
